a new adventure...

Well, tonight is the beginning of a new adventure… My Sempai and I are trying to establish the new Kent State University Aikido Club. So far there’s not enough interest to establish it. The university requires that there be at least 20 members, and that it be student run. So far we haven’t found enough interest to even staff the student administrators for the club. We are only allowed to advise. So, we will only have this and next semester to get it established, otherwise the university will drop the club. You’d think that with roughly 30,000 students we’d be able to find 20. But I’ve noticed that the majority of students that I’ve observed, walking or riding around with their cell phones in their ears, carrying their laptops in backpacks and cafĂ© lattes in their other hands, that working out, sweating, for anything other than a trophy or money doesn’t seem to appeal to them, much less a lifetime endeavor with no promise of fame or fortune… Perhaps I’m just getting cynical…(who me?...;-)~ Well, one day at a time... we’ll see what we shall see...

Listening to Dave Mathews's Stay or Leave as I write...;-)

"If we don't change direction soon, we'll end up where we're going." -Professor Irwin Corey

"Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water."
-W.C. Fields

"Ah, women. They make the highs higher and the lows more frequent."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
