Time to continue the thread from an earlier post. It has been awhile, but sometimes you have to wait and see how things shake out; and I was kept in the dark (to details of their arrangement) for a long time, still don’t know the whole story - nobody's talkin'...
I didn’t burn any bridges, but perhaps I should have... I’m very disappointed in the dojo owner, he’s a “real business man,” and that’s no compliment, at least coming from me... I have it from good sources that he offered to cut me out completely to secure a deal with the new guy (up’n’coming, the new sheriff in town), right after he played me, pretending that we were old friends and shared common interests and roots (martial arts, that is). To his credit, the new sheriff turned that provision down flat. I should have expected it, the owner’s shown his colors before (another story, another time), but I aways expect better of people, even if they haven't been so in the past... So, now there is a new Aikido school at the dojo, with a new dojo cho (head instructor - sheriff).
Me (?), just another senior instructor, with cut pay, but responsible for the same number of classes. The reductions, the owner assures me, are necessary because he’s taking a such a huge loss because of his new agreement with the “sheriff.” He claims to have done it for purely sound business reasons, having to do with affiliations and marketability, and of course, potential proffit - for himself... perfect excuses for an opportunist, who’s suffering so much that he can only take his family on one cruise each year, oh and next year he’s taking his family and chaperoning some of his students and their families to China - no, students and families have to pay their own ways. That’s ok though, I am walking away in two years or less, sooner if disillusionment’s pace increases, but not ready to leave just yet...

what an asshat!
those who know the situation concur; but i’m still hoping he comes around, perhaps when his conscience kiks in... but I guess that’s not very likely...oh well...the real tragedy is that even after i’m gone, he won’t realize how he’s sold himself out.
